91 caprice 700r4 spline count questions
i have a 91 caprice 305 700r4 that im sure is a 30 spline it went out so i put another 700r4 trans i had that came out of a 86 astro van which i think is a 27 spline. I want to rebuild the 91 trans after looking online i found that its better but after looking at my trans from the 91 i noticed that the input shaft has a 1/8 to 1/4 inch bend from being straight. I am wanting to know what would be the difference if i put the 27 spline input shaft off the 86 trans in the 91 trans will it work while it throw off my speedo and break my trans.

the 27 spline and the 30 spline input shafts are not the same diameter. It would require swapping the pumps and related parts.
the 1986 trans pump would not have the transfer tube design that is need for the 1991 trans
