92 305 Tpi

92 Camaro runs great, after 20 miles when I slow down to stop the engine dies. It will start back up, but every stop it dies...

Automatic tranny? could the be the TC staying locked. That was a relatively common thing. The TC doesn't come unlocked, it stalls the engine, then without any pressure in the tranny it lets go.

howdy there.

you should be able to unplug it and try it without and see if the problem disappears. if so then get a new lockup solenoid for it, its inside the tranny where the wires go inside the tranny aobve the pan inside the tranny.

its a very common issue although i have mostly seen it occur on front wheel drives, IE the 4T60E trannies for example

on those i always jut unplug them and let them go on their way for ppl because they simply cant afford to have the solenoid replaced

i have been told that its better to leave it in working order because apprently it keeps heat down on the highway when its needed to lock up the converter.

i have no idea if thats true or not though

good luck

Some additional heat will be generated like 41CC said- something like a street performance torque converter does.

As long as you're not doing the Cannonball run and your cooling system is working properly, you'll be OK until you fix it, IMHO. Now'd be a good time to check the radiator level!
