92 chevy 350 components

Need some advice as to what parts to use, I have a 92 350 truck engine that I'm transplanting. I've heard different stories as to water pumps, alternators and mounts. I was wanting to make the assembly as short as possible for clearance, wanting to use short length components water pump and brackets for mounting . Early Chevy, I've been told that I need to use parts from that generation engine(92) because of water flow direction anyone have any ideas, I do have most of the serpentine parts but was wanting to simplify things. Thanks, Eric

I don`t quite get what you mean. The serpentine system uses a reverse flow water pump, but the system isn`t reverse flow like the LT-1`s and LS-1`s of later, the water pump in your case just turns backwards so the impellar and fan are backwards. I wouldn`t waste my time with a early SBC bracket and V belt arrangement, I would just find a serpentine system off a mid 80`s corvette, it used a short water pump and bracket assembly, the only small block to use the short arrangement after the 1969 model year. If you still wanted to use the old style system you can use a the standard clockwise rotation short water pump with no problems.

Thanks for the info i was trying to get a straight answer as to what would fit,I had heard about the corvette engines (newer) having the reverse flow block but I was hearing both ways as to the 92 truck block, I thought that the reverse flow pump was only because of the serpentine setup but wasn't sure if I could use either the short or long standard pump with the v-belt setup. Thanks, Eric
