93 Camaro converted to 96 Camaro LT1?
So i took the 96 block to my engine shop, and it was shot -- rod had crashed into the block, and cracked it. Total rebuild cost 2500+. So i bought the 93/t56 package...
but that brings me to my question.. My 96 impala has pretty much EVERYTHING new on it (minus the engine). Coil, injectors, alternator, waterpump, optispark... you name it. I know the 93 Camaro has a different cam so my 96 opti won't be able to be swapped without a cam swap -- my question is, will the rest of the stuff be easily swapped over to the long block? I'll have to get the PCM reflashed, but what other stuff is gonna have to be changed? Also, if I was to do the cam swap, is it your opinion would it be cheaper to do the cam swap, or buy a new Optispark? Checking on rockauto, they go for around 400 bucks for an ACDELCO one -- pretty pricey. Any input would be great! Thanks
