93 chevy with a quirk

I just finished putting a high volume oil pump in my 93 chevy 4wd. Got everything back together but its sat up a while and now it wont crank. Got fire to the spark plugs, getting gas (put fresh in the tank). I even put the #1 cylinder at TDC and made sure the cap and rotor were lined up. The truck will turn over and get to the point where its almost runnin but then falters. It even run briefly once. Am I missing some little thing or maybe some big thing? Anything to check that I may be missing?

re: 93 chevy with a quirk

What was the rated pressure on the Pump? If it less then about 50 psi the engine may still not be getting fuel. Unless you swapped to a carb? Th

No I meant the rated pressure on the fuel pump you installed (which I see that is actually an oil pump) oops If you are getting fuel at the TB then it is probably up to the pressure you need.

Try advancing the timing a hair, turn the distributor counter clock wise 1/6 of an inch or so. It may be close but just a little retarded.
