I think looking for stored codes is always a good way to go, however it sounds like you could go directly to a few tests like listening for the hum of the fuel pump. It should come on when you cycle the key "on" for a few seconds. Its likely if you wish to here again you will have to cycle the key off for 20 seconds for the system to go to prime again. I would start there if no codes are present and surely check for spark. You could also remove an injector connector and see if the harness receives a pulse during cranking using a test light.
