93 t-bird tranny problems.

My 93 t-birb trans has a mind of it's own when and if it decides to go into OD. First went out at 40,000 because the plastic bushing for the throttle pressure broke. Had someone go through and fix it and said everything else looked good. It shifted into OD 3 times and then no more. Now after 30,000 more miles, it will once in awhile shift in to OD at 45 mph. My question is, can I adjust anything short of taking the trans back out ? Why only sometime shifting into over drive? Is has become a game trying to get it to shift

this one is hit or miss not knowing the condition of the unit, I would replace od band apply piston and valve body, it would be best done by tranny shop if they would do it for you... 3-4 shift valve was trouble in this unit

just throw a manual valve body in there and force it to shift right

thats not what I meant, these transmission's give alot of 3-4 shift valve trouble which is why I would replace this valve body with another one that has been checked and new gaskets installed. you could install manual valve body but why would you waste that on a car that is your daily driver. unless you need it for the motor your running
