94 ford engine timing

94 ford timinmg engine swap i cant seem to get my timing right it was a 5.8 engine blew got a 5.0 for it and i cant get the timing right i pull the spout i have base timiing at 10 advanced what am i doing wrong i know the 5.0 is from a 93

Be sure that you are setting it at 10 degrees BEFORE top dead center. I have seen more than one guy set the timing on a SBF at 10 degrees AFTER top dead center.
If it jumps around a lot , the timing chain could be worn.
