If you change sides with it, do you have room for the linkage to be installed. Which way does the linkage have to be installed?
Putting the tab or lever on the right means the shifter will push down when going from park to drive.Will that work with your setup?You may have to flip the shift arm at the trans to get the desired action. You should check that first. If you have close quarters it may be better all around to use a cable setup.
I would think changing the "clock" posisition of the shift lever on the column would be simple as dissasembling and maybe a little grinding and re assembly.
Naturally the opening at the bottom of the tube needs to be moved as well as the lever.
