95 camero trans for a 99 Sonoma???

I have a 1995 Camero RS 6cyl, motor has 212,000 miles, so its about gone. I also have a 1999 GMC Sonoma, same motor as Camero, but reverse has went out. Does any one know if the transmission from the camero will bolt n work on tha Sonoma??? I believe there tha same transmission, both have OD, not to concerned about a gear difference, jus need a moving ride! Any feedback will be helpful. Thank you for your help and support.

it is the same trans, but i dont recall seeing a camaro come w/ a 4.3 (90*) like your sonoma. and in the same aspect, have not seen a sonoma of that year with a 3.4, or 3.8 (60*) that comes in those years camaros, so the bell housings are different. other than that, there have been quite some electrical changes done between 95 and 99 and even if the cases were the same, the unit will not work properly.

The '95 Camaro (no E in Camaro) will have the 3.4 V6 and the S10 will probably have the 4.3 V6. These are not the same engine and the transmissions will not interchange. The 3.4 is a 60 degree engine and the 4.3 is a 90 degree engine.
