95 gmc sierra
i have a 95 gmc sierra short bed 4x4 with 5.3 or 5.7 engine need to know what transmission is the one i need. the shell on mine broke in half
You need to know what engine you have. The truck should not have a 5.3 LS series engine, unless a person installed that and removed the OE engine
You will need a 1995 or 1996 trans 4L60E 4x4 trans for a direct bolt in replacement. the 1995 - 1996 units have a early PWM lock up design.
1997 trans will work with a solenoid change of the 3-2 solenoid to the proper ohm rate for the 1995 trans.
If the trans case broke, I would suggest looking for a cause. Often bad mounts are a cause
I have heard of transmission crossmembers rusting out on those trucks... I'd scout a donor in a junkyard and take the crossmember and all.. even the carrier bearing crossmember if you have a carrier bearing
