96 camaro with 454

Anybody done this swap. I am looking at a 96 Camaro with a 3.8 v6. I would like to put a big block in it. Will it fit with out cutting into the strut towers? What about mounts? It should bolt to the 3.8 tranny?

This site gives the measurements of the 396. Don't show the 3.8 or tell you if they will fit. You will need to measure for yourself.

If you do this swap be sure to put an 8 point cage in the car so it won't blow out the rear window every time you stand on the gas......lol.

HMMMM it is a convertible.......had a 66 nova with a 454 ls6 in it, it made the doors not want to close good.

I've worked on these cars with the 350 in them and they suck. My '95 Corvette is much easier to work on than F-bodies of the same era. I can't imagine putting a big block in that Camaro without a lot of changes to the chassis and underhood areas to make it hold up and to provide adequate room. In short, I'd build it as a pro street car if I were going to do it.

The LT1 fills up the engine bay pretty well... can't imagine a big block in there without a whole lot of fabrication.

What does it take to put a 5.7 V8 into the 6 cylinder 96 Camaro let alone a big block? How about mounts and such? Thanks. W
