96 tahoe limited slip diff question

ive got a 96 tahoe 4x4 with a 10 bolt, 30 spline limited slip. i stripped off all the teeth on one of the side gears, and when i tore it down i found all the clutchs had pretty much had it as well. i was wonderin what was out there for lockers. i looked at powertrax systems but there for open carriers only. and i was looking at detroits, but ive heard that you have to have diffrent bearings for different applications. id kinda like to know what information i need in order to get all the right parts the first time.

The '96 will have the small differential bearings and small bearing journals. All of the after market 30 spline differentials have a larger bearing journal, which requires a different, but comon bearing. I don't have my part number list with me, but I think it's a LM102949 and LM102911. The Detroit Locker is great for off road, but for street use I would go with the Eaton Posi or Duragrip.
