97 4WD ranger needs a 302

A friend and I are contemplating the possibility of taking his 4wd manual shift 97 ranger with a 4.0 and replacing it with a 302 out of a 2wd automatic 75 ford. I understand that it will be a squeeze to begin with, but i am looking for any info on how well will the motor hook up and will there be any electrical difficulties. I appreciate any information.
