97' Expedition Check Engine light
My girlfriend has a 1997 Ford Expedition, v-8 with 104,000 miles. The check engine light came on and she brought it to a shop for diagnostic and tune up, which cost $600,($216 was to change spark plugs). Is that the going price? Guess I'm just use to my old wrecks. After 430 mi, the check engine light came back on. Brought it back to the shop, showed a different code than before. The shop fixed whatever and the light went on a third time. The diagnostic showed a different code again. The shop fixed this code message and the light went out for a while and came back on after a couple 100 miles. Now the check engine light is back on and the truck is idling rough and dying, once in awhile it does idle smooth but not for very long. Do you have any ideas on what is going wrong? Could it be that once a person has over 100,000 on their vehicle the computer is programmed to alert you to fixing everything in the vehicle????!!!!!
Thank for any advice!
Tom
