Question 97 Vortec 350 in a 95 Camaro

I have a complete 97 vortec 350 pulled from a rolled Tahoe. I have wiring harness, computer, and air box. Also have all sensors including o2. I would like to install this engine in my sons 95 Camaro. Where can I find info on this swap for electrical and also engine mounts and header availability? Anyone here attemted such a swap? Thanks Dave

I would stay away from that swap... I put a 97 Vortec in my Wrangler and when it runs good it is unstopable but the Vortec is very temprimental and needs constant tuning to stay up on top... GM only made this motor for 2-3 years and discontinued it because it is designed off the old block with new electronics.

One of the major problems is the knock sensor that retards timing 38 degrees causing a miss if aluminum contacts are in the dist cap... do some search on Google and see for yourself... I would sell the motor and purchase a tbi 350 and never have a problem... My Wrangler with the vortec is CA smog legal and was done correctly and these problems still show up once in a while... If I knew about these problems before hand, I would have stuck with the TBI and been real happy...
