98 mustang 5 speed trany

i have a 98 mustang with a 3.8l v6 and 5 speed trany i am going to swap the motor out with a 70s 302 does anyone know will this motor bolt up to this trany i would really like to keep over drive weather its a manual or auto can anyone help thanks

It can be bolted up with the correct bellhousing, but it isn't strong enough for even a stock V8 so you would be wasting your time. Gear ratios are also all wrong for the power curve of a V8 engine, they are matched to the six cylinder. Smart move is to just get a V8 trans, or sell the six car and get a V8 car to start with
