Hi all, here's the rundown 99 suburban 350. cleaned throttle body, replaced the flow sensor, fuel pump and did a complete tune up. Engine cranks and there is a strong smell of gas...any ideas ? Thanks for reading.

If the flow sensor you are referring to is the MAF(mass air flow),are you sure you have the correct unit? These are also easily damaged & most aftermarket units don't work very well.If the PCM is getting bad info from the MAF,it can cause the injectors to over fuel.Nothing else you listed would cause the issue you are seeing,so,i would start there.

Stock CSFI spider top, GM replacement MPFI spider bottom.

GM replaced these CSFI spiders withj MPFI spiders under warranty if the vehcile was registered in California and there was misfire issues. California used certain additives that went screwy with teh CSFI spiders.

If you crank the engine with the accelerator on the floor, it shuts the injectors off , as sort of Clear Flooded Engine mode. But that wont help if you have a leaky poppet valve.

Are you sure you have spark? Be sure you have spark.

Fuel pressure shoud be 58-66psi.
