Does your 1999 have a 5.7 engine? That would be a non LS series engine. The 5.3 is a LS series.
The 2002 4L60e has a deeper bell housing, different input shaft design. Converter is different for the 5.3 LS engine crankshaft and new design input shaft.
it is not a direct bolt in swap if you have an early design engine
