? about 700R4 clutch packs

To the techs and anyone that have used the Raybestos Z-Pak, do you think this clutch pack would handle WOT shifts into 4th gear?

What about the 2-4 band, is the wide carbon fiber band best?

Any suggestions and discussions are welcome.

I'm trying to build the ultimate 700R4 to put in my S10 pro-street truck.

The engine is a 406SBC, 375-400 hp, 425-450 Lb ft torque. 9" ford, 4.56 rear. 31X14X15 Hoosier slicks for the strip and 31X18.5X15 MT Sportsmans for the street.

My ride.

PS Don't know anything about the Raybestos clutches.

Z-Packs are good & from what I've been reading the Carbon band is the best available.

Do you think they would survive in a drag race environment? Even though the truck is mostly run on the street, we want to race it a few times a year.

the red ALto brand band works well too.

the key here is the drum area the band applies on MUST be flat. Many used drums are cupped some.

I'd suggest a new drum. The remachined drums are flat , but material was removed to make them flat and I think the drum can warp again easier since it is thinner

I will plan on a new drum there. Thanks Crosley. Do you have any experience with the Z-Pak mentioned in my initial post?

i've used the Z-pak for a couple of years. Good performance so far.

That's good to hear. I think I will plan to use the Z-Pak for 3-4 clutch. What do you guys think about me using the blue clutches in the other clutch packs?
