Cool about shaved door handles

hi... i am thinking of shaving my door handles and was looking at some kits for it . I was wondering what is the difference of a 35 pound solenoid and a 50 poung solenoid or will make any difference.

Pound ya'

Yes, it does make a difference. Seleniods are offerd from 15lb, 25lb, 35lb etc. The strength of selenoid you will need depends on the weight of your doors and the amount of force it will take to pop the latch mechanism.

I'm thinking that if your concerned about the size of solenoid you need, I would hook a fish scale (you know, the handheld type) to the point where you would be hooking up the solenoid to and and with the door closed pull on the scale until the door latch releases, you should be able to get an accurate measurement of how much force you will need.
