If the glass isn't scratched or cracked and there aren't little 'bubbles' starting around the edges, it by all means can be reused saving a lot of money. Glass is getting pretty expensive. A glass shop can easily re-set all the glass in your truck with new rubber back to new condition,

If you are refering to the trim that is attached to the body around the glass, this has been a problem with Chevy trucks for a number of years. The blacked out trim around the front, sides and back window of my 90 model full size Chevy truck is doing the same thing. Short of removing it all, sanding it down and repainting, the only alternative is to replace it all $$.

Thanks guys ,unfortunatly i think your right vince . This is not just a rubber seal thats bad ,it's black plastic trim that if i'm not mistaken is bonded to the glass.
Thought about painting it but there is a black coating on it that is peeling and the plastic under the coating is burnt out and cracked. I wanted to check with you guys before i called the glass co. truck is an ext cab so i need both door glass x 2,ext cab side glass x 2 and back window. YIKES I wish I had an angry girlfriend that felt like breakin some windows(hello state farm) lol thanks again dave |
