ABS brakes and power steering fluid
Hey all....would a power steering fluid leak affect ABS sensors?

Not very likely, however fluids like steering transmission and engine oil do cause rubber parts to deteriorate, or to soften and become problematic
Any fluid leaking is a bad thing, you should have it fixed.

Yea...thanks...I just bought it and finding out what issues it has. gas gauge does not work either. Brake squeal...don't even get me started...haha.

I have read though that dirt, grease etc could cause them to go faulty. Thought maybe the fluid had them too lubricated to respond correctly.

That is much the same platform as my Pontiac GP(s).

It's fairly common to have problems with the ABS sensor wiring harness. Common enough that the aftermarket has come up with a repair part, which may save you huge money in diag time and OEM wiring harnesses which are very expensive.

I gambled on it being the problem on my 2004 ... and was a cheap starting point. The gamble paid off in my case ... less than an hour's labor and about $60 for the part.

Dorman Part Number 970-040 LH, 970-041 RH.
Also sold in your local NAPA store as BKP (or OES) 641-3359, 641-3360.

Might be worth a try?

I think I might just do that. Thanks for the info.
