Post AC and aftermarket compressors

I would love to hear comments from anyone who has either a Sanden 508 or one of the Seltic compressors?

I looking into using one of the two for my car. I was ready to purchase the Sanden but I've heard that they tend to leak oil . . . is that true? I'm going the show car route and slinging oil in the engine compartment won't be acceptable.

Thanks for any help!

I've never heard of the Sandons leaking oil. I do beleive there is a note or warning in Vintage Air installation guide about getting the compressor installed correctly. Failure to do so would result in leaking oil. It seems as though it is possible to install "upside down". I personally think Sandon makes a great compressor.

The fleet of Peterbilts that I worked on at my last job, all had Sanden pumps. The drivers used the A/C year round (lotsa miles), and never had a problem with seals. However, the clutch bearings were the weak part about them (didn't have the belts too tight either). I would say you should'nt have any problems, unless you are gonna' put a million miles on it.

Thanks for the confidence in the Sanden. A seller of both the Seltic and the Sanden is pushing the Seltic, I'm wondering why????
