Accessory Holes on 350 SBC Heads

I am ready to put my rebuilt heads on and they each have 3 holes at one end and 1 hole at the other. The heads will work on either side right?
I assume that since my alternator goes high on passenger side and PS pump goes low on drivers side.............
I would put the 3 holes on front of passenger side?
When I got the motor, the alternator brackets were not attached but I found all the pieces.
I did not note the orientation of holes when I removed heads.....
Any "rules of thumb" or anything else to consider when looking at accessory holes in heads? Thank you.

I think you'll find that the heads are both cast the same . In other words , there isn't a right and left . So if you put both heads in front of you with the intake ports facing away from you on both heads , you'll find that the end with the 3 holes will be on the same end of both heads and the ends with the one hole will also match up unless you have two heads with different casting numbers , an unmatched set . If it is a matched set , the holes will wind up on whatever side they were cast to wind up on , regardless of which side you put a particular head on . Is any of this making any sense ??? I know what I'm trying to say but I just made myself dizzy trying to explain it ! Lol !!!!

Ayuh,.....^^^^ What he said,...

The heads only fit 1 way, so ya don't have a Choice as to where the accessory mount holes come out...

and with some after market brackets you'll have to do some drilling and tapping for more holes ! I had to do this with my Street Performance brackets on my Vortec heads
