Acklands alkyd enamel

Hi im starting to get down to paint on my stepside. I was goin to go with some aklyd enamel from acklands grainger it shows to use with an epoxy primer i think. Just wondering any thoughts/ comments this wil be my first paint so i want every thing to work right. Thanks,Jake

Skip the Acklands enamel.
Go to Micron Coatings on Sheppard st in Winnipeg, www.microncoatings.ca. Look under product data for mc 200 clear baseThey have a great Industrial high gloss enamel, they can mix any color, MC 200, around $45.00 a gallon.
Go with an epoxy primer first, then a 2 k urethane primer/surfacer, from Rondex, PF 656, $65.00 a gallon, then block,wetsand, and then shoot on your enamel.
here are some pics I have just shot this paint on my car, about 2 days ago.

Well im not trying to do anything to serious just getting the truck on the road and looking half decent plus this paint is only 27.00$ a gallon, so im just wondering if it'll work out ok?
