Adding grease to upper ball joint
I installed new control arm ball joints on my 1960 Tbird. The top ball joints wouldn't take any grease. After exerting a great deal of pressure
the grease started coming out the top near the grease fitting but won't get to the ball itself. I've attached a photo. Anyone have any ideas? It happened on both upper joints but not on the bottom.

If that is a pressed in ball joint, it seems to have a split case........it looks to be crooked in there

Did U try different greese fittings? It's not unusual, even for new zerks, to be frozen up.

From that pic, it looks like the zerk is fine, but is leaking out around the ring that holds the ball joint together. I would jack the car up, let the wheels hang and apply grease.....it might go in easier that way

I agree with Poncho62 that the ball joint casing is cracked...The ball joint is not pressed in it's bolted in (the tree bolts beside the joint). In my opinion the ball joint should be replaced, I don't see an immediate safety issue but if it in fact is cracked...replace it.

Maybe "cracked" is the wrong wording...it looks like the top of the ball joint has the seam letting go from the main body of the ball joint.
Sorry about that, thought about it and figured I worded it wrong. Ray
