Adjusting Brake Pedal

I recently swapped my front drums on my 1959 Ford Ranchwagon for discs with a booster and proportioning valve. I think that the pedal is going too far down and am wondering how to adjust the whole setup. I have vacuum bled the brakes and am pretty sure that the brakes are properly bled but I am wondering about the linkage from the pedal to the booster and the the little threaded adjustment on the output side of the booster that actuates the master cylinder. Can I just keep lengthening the rod from the pedal to the booster or is there a point where I've gone too far. Same for the little adjuster on the output of the booster, can I screw it out too far ? I should mention that the brakes do stop the car, I just think that they should be actuated sooner ..Thanks

Did you adjust the rear drums up properly. Should stop after 1 rev when spun by hand.
