Adjusting the clutch
I did a auto to T5 conversion in my 70 Mustang coupe. I used the Modern Driveline cable conversion. Per Bruce at Modern you need 1.2" travel at the release lever, this was checked and I have around 1.25" travel.
Up until two weeks ago I had no issues.
The transmission is tough to shift when running but when it is running very easy to shift. So I adjusted the clutch.
My process is start the car, clutch depressed and the cable is adjusted to when to wheels do not turn. The transmission is now easy to shift. I will go thru gears and the shifting is smooth, after about 5 minutes the shifting gets rough.
I have also adjusted the clutch with the engine off I push in the clutch someone will try to turn the tire, the cable is then adjusted to the point you can turn the rear wheel. Then the car is started fun thru the gears starts off smooth then gets harder
The conversion only has about 2000 miles on it.
