Adjusting trans linkage

I have a 69 chevelle 305 with a th350 last year I upgraded to a th400(same linkage). Ever since then when i put the car in park the columm shift lever doesn't lock into position allowing me to take the key out.

There should be an adjustment on the linkage closest to the tranny.Loosen it and put the lever in P and be shure the tranny is in P . Retighten and run the lever thru the gears to see if you get them allwith the motor off. You may need a more adjustable linkage available from Kugle.
