I deleted a post in the lounge from the person from India, it was fishy to me from the start, I don't know if this had anything to do with all this but it was a senseless post.A very generic statement about new car technology, a spam message hid in there sometimes. Dan

It's been severa months, but I was having highlighted words showing up, not only here, but in other forums also. I did an Avast system clean up and all was well after. I sat at my computer and it took a quite a while but everything worked faster after it was done too!

If I don't sign in I get the ads. I have used both internet explorer and google chrome. They are the same except google chrome knows my name and password for hotrodders.

I use mozilla and have no ad's of any kind whether signed in or not! But when I'm not signed in and go to unanswered threads I can't enter till I fill out and answer a question and there are ad's there!!!! The day I had the problem I clicked on a thread by a foreign new member the post made no sense!!!! And I was curious! I wont enter any threads like that any more

only happens if i want to look around with out logging in. i get car ads, all types of ads, taking me to other sites to buy their stuff.

i just log out and looked around. got ads for jaguar, charles swabe , disney. they are by ad choice. hope this helps

Look in your browser extensions and add-ons. I had a coupon link that made those yellow links in posts. Deleted it, went back to the posts...they were gone.
Something loaded it into my browser (FireFox), probably while shopping parts, a heater for my garage, who knows.
