Advice needed.

Ok, a woman I know brings in her computer for repair. I managed to save some files from her toasted HD and transfered them to the new one. I also saved some e-mails which her husband said were crucial.

Yeah, the e-mails were from his girlfiend. This is technically none of business but if MY spouse was cheating on me I would want to know.

Should I tell the wife or just take the $$ and keep my trap shut?

Thanks.

CET;

That's a tough one. My wife has the same dilemma as a hairdresser. A woman comes in and says "I'm leaving that b@stard for so and so, right after Xmas". Her hubby comes in the next day and says " I think I'll buy wifey a new car for Xmas"

According to my wife you should never get involved or reveal anything U found out in the shop to anyone else. It always comes back to U, and U will be the bad guy. If ppl trust U, keep it that way. She will find out soon enough without your help. Just my $.02 worth.

I go by "It ain't none of my business".
By you stepping in the middle of it all, it puts you in the middle, and that's somewhere I never want to be...

Go strictly business on this one, you are safer to stay out of it. By the way, how did you get his password?

Thanks for the replies. I will just act like everything is ok.
My friend is not very computer literate so her hubby can keep whatever he wants on the HD with little chance of her finding it.

I had their passwords from last visit. They were the same even though I tell customers to change them periodically.

Angry Grrr!

That makes me mad! I can't stand to see someone being cheated on. This putz doesn't deserve to have a wife, girlfriend or computer! Release the hounds, Smithers!
Either way, he'll pay for it , whether it be now or later. You know... the whole seventh commandment "'Thou shall not commit adultery!" It's just a shame the poor wife has to suffer.

I guess you could get Mr. Blond (Michael Madsen from Reservoir Dogs) to go to work on him!

j/k

I think I'd do like Larry said....Just put them in a folder on the desktop, tell her this was what was saved off of the old hardrive, and tell her she needs to go thru them and see if there is anything she needs saved and if not just delete it. That way she will find it and if it gets deleted then so be it.

Thumbs up Sounds like a plan!

Good call Kev! Sounds like the best idea.

I agree, tactfully get the information to her. Just imagine if your wife/girlfriend was cheating on you and other people knew, wouldn't you like to know this information. By finding out now she can deal with it now and not let it build up more and more and be worse later. If you don't tell her now and this goes on for a long period of time before she finds out, then it comes out that you knew, I'd bet she would be really pissed off at you too. If she is your friend, let her know now.

I agree, slip the files in the....WRONG? place.

I think most women know in the back of their mind when something like that is going on, so she is probably suspicious already.

she is probably a good woman and getting $h!1 on by this guy,

LIGHT HIM UP!!

Yup, makes me mad too. I will just have to accidentally leave something for her to find.
