Advise on putting in new carpet

I have a 86' Chevy c-10 truck and I recently bought some molded carpet off of ebay for it, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise since this is my first time replacing carpet in a car. Should I use some kind of insulation under the carpet or just leave it the way it is? Any help is appreciated

I would put in just the carpet. But then I'm a weight watcher. If you want it quieter add some padding for sound deadener.

Did it come with the jute backing glued to it? It should. There should be a sound deadener on the floor, if it's not there then you need to get some.
