holley problems
Hey did you check the accelerator pump check valve if it is not working you will see the same symptoms.

Two other things, is the return spring is on top of the accl. pump diaphram and have you pulled the squirter to see if the upper check valve is free and sealing corectly? I would look at those and if they are OK pull the float bowl and metering block and make sure the gaskets are sealing OK on them.

AED Carb Issue
I just bought an AED 750 HO, this think sucks bigtime.
Looks like they took a Holley 4777 double pumper and milled the choke housing. My Mustang lost over 3 seconds in the 1/4 mile. I tired getting CNC Motorsports to refund the cost, but they gave me a royal run around and will not give my money back. I recommend not using either one of these companies.......... I bought a 750 Proform and the car has never ran better.......... Good luck if you have an AED Carb.... |

What is the specific problem? What did you try for tuning? You say Proform is OK, Maybe a Demon or Edelbrock AVS would be even better. Just making a statement here, not an attack. Most hot rodders keep changing carbs until they find one that works right out of the box because they can't tune them. And then it is the manufacturers' problem they got all the bad carburetors. Not being able to tune a carburetor is not grounds for refund. Calling and ordering a carb from a carb specialist so they can build it for your combination has its merits. hmm AED sent me a brand new carb even before I returned the old one.
Nice guys actually (if you dont go off half cocked) they even gave me a carb that was more expensive than the 750 HO put it on made some adjustments and it runs great now as far as induction is concerned. after my carb was returned they found the problem. when i got the carb the first time the box was beat up and the UPS guys dropped it in transit. bent shaft was the problem |
