Afterfire in exhaust--Could Helmholtz pipe cause this?
I have a chevy with a small Weiand blower. Yesterday I experienced an afterfire in the exhaust and wonder what may have caused it. I also recently installed a quarter tuner or Helmholtz pipe to eliminate a drone sound in the mufflers. The quarter tuner was installed on one side of the dual exhaust. I wonder if this could cause afterfire since the quarter tuner was installed near the header and my truck is running on the rich side due to the blower. Anyone had any experience with a Helmholtz pipe and whether they have any connection to afterfires?
