aftermarket shifter question

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket shifter that fits under the factory shifter plate in an 86 - 88 Monte Carlo SS?. I don't want to cut the plate. The car has an 700r4.

Wolf, I think some of the guys on MonteCarloSS site have used the ProMatic and Quick Silver shifters. I believe it requires trimming some plastic underneath the cover but not the opening.
