Air Cleaner Risers for 305 SBC G-20?

Hey guys we got an old 83' Chevy Van with a 5.0 305,(believed original) engine running,& Happy to be under the hood.

It just doesent have an Air-Cleaner on it.Since there are #9 kinds of lines running CLOSE to the Carb does it require an Air-Cleaner Riser for the Air-Cleaner to Clear?

Will just about any Air-Cleaner fit in there even if it has to have a Riser on it?

on the late 70s van i last pulled an engine out of it had a 350 with a like 2 inch riser between the carb and the air cleaner asm. you should be able to buy one at a parts house.

GM made a couple different heights of risers for under the air cleaners on the trucks and vans. If you get an aftermarket air cleaner, make sure its NOT a "drop down" kind. They really get in the way of all the stock crap on the engine. If you need a riser under the air cleaner, don't get the plastic ones that are sold at most parts houses, they suck! You can probably get the metal GM one at a salvage yard for a few bucks, or there is always eBay. Seen a few listed as "air cleaner spacer".
