Air Compressor trouble
I bought a Bel Aire air compressor (216V model, 5 hp, 1 phase) and applied electric power and followed start up procedures in the recommendations booklet.
The pump and motor start to run, the pressure starts to build, however, after a very short time the pump flywheel seems to stop turning and stops the electric motor. The air pressure gauge reads only 60 psi and the shut off switch does not come into play. The pressure has not reached operating pressures. I checked the belt and it has the recommended "less than 1/2 inch", the oil was half way in the sight glass. Any recommendations to what my trouble maybe? Dutch

Are you sure you have this thing wired properly? It sounds as if it is wired to 110 volts.

Yep your right, boy one wire can really mess up a person. Have the right voltage and everything works fine. Great learning everyday. Dutch
