Air/Fuel guage questions.

hey guys i have a 84 camaro 305. the computer is not hooked up to anything and the intake and carb have bean changed. i realy need a air/fuel gauge to help me tune it correctly. it has an O2 sensor on the manifold but its only on the drivers side. what kind of O2 sensor would i need to get and will any A/F guage work? also should i relocate the sensor to just before the cat for a better reading? its a y-pipe that goes to a single pipe.

in most cases, whichever company you get your gauge from will recommend what O2 sensor to get. Also out of curiousity, what distributor are you running? the factory HEI? or a older HEI?

i am running a vac advance hei from a 305 van that was in the junk yard near my house..LOL it gets the job done but i was thinking about getting a better cap and button for it. not sure if the accel parts will make it spark hotter or not? its running on ported vacume right now because i have no experiance recurving a distributer. the stock O2 sensor is not plugged in to anything right now its just sitting there to plug the hole....
