air ride on my 65 F100
I hope its ok that i post pics and share what im doing with the suspension in this section, if not please let me know
so i picked this truck up two weeks ago and i think i have made good progress so far. my plan for this truck is to build a low budget rat truck that any one could drive for under $3,000. at the same time show off some of my fabricating skills. this is going to be my first full custom air ride setup. |
so here are some pics of the truck the way i got it

these are some of the issues that make this truck not road worthy.

i managed to get most of the rear suspension done last week, there are still a few small things to address.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1-1024x685.jpg out with the old http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1-685x1024.jpg in with the new http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1-685x1024.jpg |
i went with a spider web theme and now im calling it the black widow

pulled the engine and trans out today to give the front suspension the same treatment as the rear.

Nice truck! That suspension was severely "rubed" and awesomely unsafe, glad you are doing it right.

Rear suspension looks great! Cant wait to see what you do with the front. Its pretty scary to see what they had been driving it on.

Thanks Big Mike. I could really use some new bags for this thing :mwink:
I'm trying to break away from the traditional slammed air setup and blow peoples minds. |
I had a bit of fabricators block the last two days trying to work out the front link setup, but I managed to do custom drop on the front axle. My pops is working on the rear fenders to accommodate the extreme drop. He also filled in the spare tire pocket in the drivers side fender.

Looking good. How big of wheel or tall of tire are you planning on running on the front? Just wondering with the scrub line being that low now.

The front will be rolling on a 28" tall tire and with the 2" drop on the axle, that leaves me with 7 inches of scrub clearance. not bad considering the body is going to 5 inches of the ground at ride height. |
How soon you plan on having the front all fabbed up?
