air ride suspension on 49 Dodge coupe

Hey,

Just became a member and am knew to hot rod building, so if I mess up don't hate me.

I just bought a 49 Dodge coupe and want to put an air ride suspension system underneath the car. Is this possible and what is the best route to ensure the job is done right?

Are you planning on running with the OEM suspension or are you planning on installing an aftermarket front crossmember or a four bar ?

Tony....

the stock suspension under those cars are JUNK, unless you want it to be stock, & I should know I rebuilt my brother 39 dodge (basically the same) hard to find parts, cost is high , they use basicly 3 king pins on each side, they dont use ball joints, you'll have to find a shop that KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO ALINE IT.. dropped spindles & disc brake kits can be bought BUT the cost is also high & you have to do machine work on the stock spindles if used, what i would do is look at a FATMAN frame subframe snub or subrame with something else. Just do me one faver, dont shoot the messager........joe
