As mentioned, you are most likely going to have to go through the front suspension. Polyurethane bushings and MOOG steering/suspension components will be the best choice.
As for brand name of shocks, MONROE, GABRIEL and I have had good luck with KYB's.
Just get a plan of attack and gather the parts to go about it correctly.
