Ive been looking into going with an air ride technologies susension on my 31 studebaker project. a quick question i have though. it seems that the most the airbags will rise from compressed to ride height is around 3". If I were to have the compressed at bottoming out on the ground, would 3" be enough to ride around in without bottoming out?

That is going to be completely dependent on the front suspension you are using. A typical MII will get about 5.5" of total travel at the wheels. me personally, I like the underpinnings to get within an inch, then inflate up about 3" to ride height which will give you about 4" of ground clearance plus you can fully inflate up from there to max height if you have a speed bump or you need ot load it on a trailer.
