I agree... within the realm of street or strip engines, both blocks would be fine. The addition of a little nickel probably doesn't account for much.

I pretty much don`t care what block it is, as I`ve never built or seen a "bad" small block chevy. I just use what I got or what I get and pretty much don`t care how much tin or nickel it`s got in it as it`s sure not gonna make any difference power wise.
