Thought someone might like this, maybe you have seen it before. anyway those cars are all built by they're owners and all use V8 engines, this sport started as a competition between farmers using old wyllis jeeps and Broncos 20 years ago. Enjoy.
Kristofer.

We've got similar competitions over here. It's amazing, some of those guys climb near vertical cliffs and actually make it to the top.

This one looks like it's from the middle east or something. Pretty cool:

Wicked, kool, fun! That looks like it would be a blast! My girlfriend is from Iceland I wonder if she knows anything about it? How often do they have this competition?

That was an awesome save by the guy in blazin's second link..the one from the middle east..

I thought that guy was going to pencil roll that islamic Blazer(??) all the way back down...

In my younger days on my xr500 I used to play around on the comp hillclimb hill at carniegie cycle park...

Hillclimbs are fun, but I know this.....you will learn how to downhill way before you learn how to top them.

later, mikey

BTW, hillclimbs have been around for as long as there have been cars, I question whether or not it really started in Iceland.

Although the wanton gratuitous destructive nature of the Icelandic version may in fact have it's origins there. Them boys is CRAZY!! It must be the long winter nights.

I think the second one is Al Moreeb hill in the UAE. I think it is the biggest dune in the world.
I have known a few guys from the US that have gone over and raced there drag quads on that hill.

I guess being brain dead to participate in the Icelandic version helps - it has to be the long cold dreary winter nights that causes that kind of "damage". But if that's your thing - go for it

Not a one of them in the videos made it over the top - and the fact that some guys vehicle roll bars bent and one guy losing his helmet tells me that they need some better safety rules as well

Dave
