alot is missing from my truck...but the trans and column are there...

on my new 57 chevy pu project the guy before me cut out the linkage to the clutch and trans. i do have the steering column, not sure if its the one from the cab or the motor and trans itself. two different trucks to make one. im pretty sure its three on the tree. does any one have a picture of what this set up looks like. i have to go through an antique auto junk yard and dig around for a late fifties chevy pu that has linage still. any pictures of this would be very helpful. thank you.

The linkage unhooks- there should have been no need to cut anything.

If there are two arms at the bottom of the steering column that have holes in them, these are for a manual trans. If there's only one arm it's for an automatic trans.

What you are looking for are the linkages between the two arms at the steering column and the shift arms of the trans. If you need the clutch "Z"-bar, etc. get those parts while you're there.

If the column is from a newer vehicle it may have the ignition key in the column, or a warning flasher switch, or a tilt function. None of these things were used in '57 originally.
