Hey All,

I need to buy a new alternator bracket. I had purchased a Trans-Dapt fancy chrome bracket before but the fit is not very good. I wanted to upgrade to something a little better. I was looking at a bracket from summit, this one in particular http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SME-2000/. Has anyone used this bracket? How is the quality?

Not sure on the one from Summit...A bud bought basically that from Jegs and it was very nice, quality piece...I made mine.. cut lwr hanger from 1/4"plate with a band-saw and bought a turn-buckle from Attwoods for the adjuster. I had to tweek the top to clear the alt & bush the eyes up, but it works great.. for $3.99....

Dont have a pic of the one I am running now, but this pic is of a shorter one...bottom bracket is now chrome....

That's what I have always done for special brackets. Either make them from scratch or modify a factory piece by cutting it apart, tweaking it, then welding the whole mess back together. Powder coat will make it look like a high-buck piece.
