Voltage

Doc here,

First get a volt ohm meter and with it running, measure the voltage across the battery with nothing on , Does it STILL read 16 Volts? or is it 14.4?

If it's 14.4 the gauge is shot, OR you may have a bad ground...

What alternator do you have and how is it hooked up? Internal or external regulated?

This should be your Schematic:

Verify that yours is hooked up this way, and if it is, and still charges high, you may have to adjust the Voltage Regulator..

Doc
