Alternator/Voltage RegulatorTerminal "ID" And Idiot Light Wiring

I can't seem to find my wiring diagrams for the pin out of the PowerMaster Alternator. This would be I think the "10si" 1960's type GM Alternator which will be Used on A 65 Corvette without the external Corvette Regulator. Will be using the internal regulator in the alternator. One pin is the Sensing terminal that would connect to the 12Volt charging buss that the alternator feeds.

The other terminal is for the Idiot Light. From what I remember when not using that therminal to drive an idiot light....their is a diode and or a resistor that get's connected I think to ground from that terminal.

If my memory serves me correctly...I think it's terminal #1 which is hot with 12 volts when the ingnition is set to run. Then after the motor starts and the alternator starts to charge that terminal is switched to ground internally which would turn off the idiot light if connected.

Does anyone have a diagram showing the diode and resitor and there value and placement (Anode/Cathode) in this circuit.

Here's the MAD Electrical upgrade kit which shows a Diode which is added in the circuit. This is what I'm asking about..the location of the diode. There is a mention of using the above when using an MSD system.

THanks..

re: Alternator/Voltage RegulatorTerminal "ID" And Idiot Light Wiring

Did some research and found that the diode is placed in the Idiot light circuit ..or in my case (no Idiot Light) a 12V ignition swithed on/off source..the diode is placed to pass 12V from the ingnition source to the field terminal on the Alternator Regulator. The diode blocks the return 12V output of the field voltage back to the ignition source after motor start up .
