alternators???

i have a 468 cubic inch bbc with 6:71 blower going in a '55 chevy stepside. i was wondering if anyone could recommend any alternators. the smaller the better. I don't have much electronics i need to run, basically just lights. i've seen the shogun alternators which is really what i wanted but they went out of business. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would not cut yourself short on the alt. I would still get at least a 100 amp, probably a 140 amp. You are probably running an electric fuel pump with the blower motor, and most people end up running electric fans because of limited space. That motor is going to need alot of cooling power. Plus a good CDI box and a boost retard.

I installed a CS 130 used on an 89 Camaro, it was smaller than the stock alt. I has to make a bracket but with the space saved I was able to install a turn buckle to make tightening the belt easier.

i'm running a mechanical fuel pump. and i don't have worry about an ignition box since i'm running a vertex magneto. i will most likely be running an electric fan though. thanks for the input.
